Your information, clearly explained

Privacy policy.

This policy covers Chaos Chess: Definitive Edition, including its desktop and mobile versions, the chaoschess.online website, and player support.

Last updated October 5, 2026

The short versionChaos Chess stores settings, progress, Champion unlocks, and saved replays on your device. Optional account or online features, where available, use the information needed to provide those services. If you contact support, we use your message to help with your request.

1. Who we are

Chaos Chess is operated by Camis AI LLC. This policy explains how information is handled when you play the game, use its online services where available, visit our website, or contact us.

Privacy questions: [email protected].

2. Playing Chaos Chess

The game stores information on your device so it can remember your preferences and progress. This includes:

  • Audio, graphics, control, language, and board settings.
  • Campaign and tutorial progress, scenario results, and Champion unlocks.
  • Saved replays, including moves, match settings, selected Champions, and results.

These records support game features such as continuing your progress, restoring your settings, and reviewing a saved match. Offline play against the computer and local play on one device do not require you to give us your name or email address.

Visiting our website does not give it access to your local game files. If you send us a replay, screenshot, or diagnostic log, we handle it as support information as described below.

3. Accounts and online play

Account and online features depend on the version and services available to you. This section applies when those features are offered and you choose to use them.

Signing in can involve an account identifier, display name, sign-in provider, and the basic profile information that provider supplies, such as a name or email address. Authentication tokens keep your session signed in; your sign-in provider handles its own password.

Online matches process the participating players’ identifiers, selected Champions, moves, board state, match results, and ratings. Your display name and relevant match information are visible to other participants; ratings and results may also appear in a leaderboard where that feature is provided. Reports you submit can include a match identifier, report category, and your description of the issue.

Online services also process connection information, including IP addresses and connection times, to deliver matches, manage reconnects, and help prevent abuse. These services do not change the local nature of offline game modes.

4. Stores, purchases, and diagnostics

Store and platform operators handle their own accounts, purchases, payments, and platform services. We do not receive your full payment-card details. In versions with purchase verification, transaction identifiers, product information, account associations, and signed purchase records can be used to validate or restore access to purchased content.

The game can create local technical logs containing information such as game version, device and operating-system details, and errors. We receive copies when you include them in a support request. Stores, operating systems, and game-engine services may also process technical or crash information according to their own settings and policies.

Steam’s handling of account, purchase, gameplay, and device information is described in Valve’s privacy policy. For Unity services, see Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. A platform’s own policy applies to information it handles independently of Camis AI LLC.

5. Visiting the website

You can browse chaoschess.online without a website account. The site does not collect payments or provide a form for submitting personal information.

To deliver pages and protect the site, its hosting service may process standard connection information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time.

The website does not use advertising pixels, analytics cookies, or behavioral profiling. Images, fonts, and the trailer are served as site assets; browsing does not automatically load a third-party media widget. Following an external link takes you to a service governed by its own privacy policy.

6. Contacting player support

If you email us, we receive your email address, the name your email service supplies, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. These may include screenshots, recordings, replays, or logs.

We use this information to review and respond to support requests, including troubleshooting reported problems. Contacting support does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Please include only information relevant to your request and remove sensitive details from attachments.

7. Use and sharing of information

Information is used to operate the game and its available services, save progress, authenticate accounts, run matches, validate purchases, provide support, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, processing is based on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting our services, compliance with law, or consent where required.

Hosting, authentication, database, platform, and email providers process the information needed for the services they provide. Access to support correspondence is limited to people and providers who need it to address your request or operate those services. Online participants receive the match information described above.

We do not sell personal information or use support messages to build advertising profiles. Information may be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect legal rights and the security of our services. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

8. How long information is kept

Local settings, progress, and replays remain on your device until they are reset, removed, or overwritten. Whether uninstalling the game removes them depends on your device and platform; device backups can retain a separate copy.

Account, match, purchase-verification, and security records are retained as needed to provide the relevant service, maintain accurate results and access to purchases, investigate problems or abuse, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, related follow-up, and applicable legal obligations. Website and service logs are retained according to the provider’s settings and operational or security needs.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise applicable rights, contact [email protected]. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or clarify your request. Requests are handled in accordance with applicable law, including its response periods, conditions, and permitted exceptions.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.

10. Children’s privacy

Offline game modes do not ask players to provide personal contact information. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us so we can review it.

11. Changes and contact

We will update this policy to reflect changes in our information-handling practices and provide any notice required by applicable law. The current policy and its revision date will be posted here.
